Robby Larson, Ed.D.

A native of Portland, Robby has spent more than 25 years serving the nonprofit community in professional, board, and volunteer capacities. The majority of his career has been in higher education. Most recently, he served as VP of Advancement at Multnomah University (2017-23), leading the school’s largest-ever fundraising campaign, securing more than $15 million. Previously, he spent 11 years at George Fox University, helping shape and guide the $14 million Promise Campaign. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated expertise in nonprofit management, community engagement, relationship building, program development, and development.

Robby has served on various nonprofit boards spanning education, faith-based, cultural, political, and youth service sectors. He is passionate about generosity, servant leadership, organizational culture, and vocation, as well as the personal and professional growth of individuals and organizations.

Robby and his wife, Amy, have two small children, Luke and Tess. He enjoys gardening, reading, mixing craft cocktails, and cheering on the Portland Timbers.

John C. Davis, J.D.

John has been a business, nonprofit, and estate planning attorney in the Portland area for nearly 20 years.  He helps individuals, business owners and nonprofit organizations reduce risk and plan for the future by creating succession plans, complex family and business trusts, and partnerships. He serves as general counsel to many Northwest businesses, helping them buy and sell real estate, prepare contracts and partnership agreements, and create LLCs and corporations. John also maintains a commitment to pro bono legal services, representing both individuals and nonprofits.

John is an active member of the community – serving on numerous nonprofit boards, coaching youth sports, and participating in his local church.

Outside of work, John spends time with his wife, Sarah, and their two sons, William and Charlie. John is an avid hiker, golfer, reader, and can often be found watching and reading about F1 racing, cars, and things that go fast.

In Memoriam – K. Gene Christian (1963-2021)

Colleague, mentor, and friend, Gene Christian was one of the Pacific Northwest’s foremost experts in planned giving. During his more than 30-year estate planning career, Gene partnered with dozens of schools, ministries, and nonprofit organizations, faithfully guiding thousands of families through the complexities of legacy planning. The impact of his business, Charitable Estate Planning Northwest, continues to be felt across the nonprofit community.

We are honored to carry on Gene’s life work and extend the impact of his professional legacy using a model he pioneered.
